Painting workshops

Join us to paint at the location where Vincent van Gogh also painted!

Following a brief introduction, you will visit the room where Van Gogh lived and worked. Did you know that Vincent created a number of his Drenthe paintings sitting here on the floor? Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to follow suit. After visiting his room, there’s time to examine a number of paintings and to discuss his painting style, his use of colour and his brushwork.

Like many of his contemporaries, Van Gogh copied works by other artists in order to make a living. And that’s what you can do too. Based on a number of Van Gogh examples here at the house, you will set to work sketching and painting. You will create a painting in Van Gogh style. Feel free to choose the subject which most appeals to you. Whether it be a landscape, flowers, self-portrait, etc. We shall be using acrylics. Everything you need is at hand. The workshop is very low threshold, and is intended as an introduction to painting. Of course your very own ‘Van Gogh’ goes home with you.

The number of participants is minimum 4 and maximum 8 persons. The workshop lasts approximately 2.5 hours.

Follow the workshop as a group?

Costs: € 22.50 per person.

This includes the tour, a 40x50cm canvas, the use of paint and brushes, coffee/tea and supervision.
